Kenyans in the social media successfully helped the Kenya Red Cross Society re unite a lost girl with her parents.
The girl was found near the Pumwani District Officer’s office by staff of United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) while they were on a mission to escort refugees to UNHCR Transit Center in Nairobi.
This was after the Kenya Red cross via its tracing unit Restoring Family Links (RFL) methodologies posted notices on its social media about the lost girl’s wherebouts.
According to the Kenya Red Cross, Kenyans in the social media took up the matter and shared with their followers in the social media hence the successful re union with the family.
RFL is a generic term for activities that aim to prevent separation and disappearances, restore and maintain contact between family members and clarify the fate of persons reported missing.
