The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) has formally replaced Gideon Mung’aro as Minority Whip in the National Assembly with Thomas Mwadeghu.
The coalition has now written to National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi, Minority Leader Francis Nyenze informing them of the desicion.
In a statement read in parliament by Suna east mp Junet Mohammed, the decision was reached after the coalitions parliamentary group meeting yesterday.
In a separate letter CORD has also asked Mung’aro to immediately hand over to Mwadeghu. Accordingly Mung’aro will also cease to be a member of the House Business Committee.
The decision to formally remove Mung’aro comes just a day after some Coast MPs rejected an order from the coalition’s leadership to replace him with another MP from their region.
