Siaya Senator James Orengo now claims a cartel of powerful politicians and influential businessmen were behind his woes, after he allegedly revoked title deeds for chunks of public land they had acquired irregularly.
Orengo has named Deputy President William Ruto and Labor Cabinet Secretary Kazungu Kambi in the list of about 1,000 people he claims had waged a war against him after he repossessed public land they had allegedly grabbed.
The former Lands Minister says he is being targeted as a scapegoat, but is willing to appear before the authorities if required to do so to defend himself.
Meanwhile Lands Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu insists her predecessor must carry his cross, even as State House termed Orengo a fake reformer who had resorted to name dropping without providing evidence.
