Members of parliament and the Law Society of Kenya are planning to bring amendments to the Attorney General’s act to initiate the process of removing an AG from office.
This comes after it emerged that there are no procedures in law to remove the AG and the director of public prosecutions from office.
Appearing before national assemblies’ justice committee, LSK chair Eric Mutua says the constitution in its current form cannot be used to initiate the process of removal from office of the AG.
LSK had petitioned parliament seeking to ouster the current AG Githu Muigai from office following his move to advice the president to pay the fictitious Anglo leasing contracts.
