Two vehicles commandeered by suspected Al Shabaab the militants who kidnapped five people in Lamu on Friday have been spotted in Jilib a stronghold of Alshabaab.
Witnesses say the vehicles were ween speeding towards Jilib where Amisom and Kenya Defence Forces troops are advancing.
According to The Standard Newspaper the information on the whereabouts of the vehicles were given to the police by witnesses.
Police however say they are still not aware if the victims are still with the kidnappers or not.
Those missing were identified as Anwar Abdi, Ali Omar, Abdirahman Mohamed and Shukri Noor.
The two Toyota Land-cruiser which were transporting miraa between Milimani and Basuba in Lamu East were intercepted by gunmen at around 8 am on Friday.
The suspected militants also took off with the five occupants of the vehicle.
