Police have detonated an explosive device planted few meters from the spot where Mandera Governor Ali Roba escaped an attack yesterday.
A member of the public informed the police of the device that was set ready to explode before they rushed to the scene and safely exploded it.
The police on patrol through the tip off from a member of the public discovered the IED device at around 6 this morning.
A statement from governor Roba’s office says that the area police County Commandant Noah Mwivanda has indicated that the attack is terrorism linked with no specific targets adding that there have been many returnees from Somalia in the recent past.
