A young woman was today shot in the leg by thugs who were trying to rob her of her mobile phone in Mathare slums.
The thugs who had already robbed the lady all her money allegedly shot her in the leg after she tried to stop them from taking her phone.
An eye witness told Ghetto Radio News that the lady was on her way to get milk from vendors which she in turn sells to Mathare North residents.
According to the eye witness, they heard a loud bhang in the morning upon visiting the site, they saw the three thugs running away and the woman writhing in pain.
The woman was taken to Marura nursing home and has since been referred to Kenyatta Hospital.
Just two days ago, National Steering committee on Peace Building and conflict Management released a report showing Nigeria area, Kosovo and Mathare Three c as some of the most unsafe areas in Mathare.
