
Football stakeholders across the Country are enraged by Football Governing Body (FKF)’s decision to award a lower side promotion to the top flight league.
The stakeholders who consist of former Harambee Stars players have termed the awarding of 12 points to Shabana FC via a boardroom decision as unfair and unethical.
“We know that the FKF President is linked with the team and the way he has been running the affairs of football in the country this should not be a surprise, “lamented the ex players.
“However what is being done by the federation should not happen in this era, the President is out of touch with modern times,” they added.
Shabana beat Zoo Kericho FC in the fight against relegation after the latter was stripped three points for allegedly fielding an ineligible player –
Michael Otieno in the National Super League (NSL) Zone B game against Agrochemicals FC.
The docked points saw Zoo Kericho drop from top to third place on the NSL standings with Shabana going top.
According to the FKF, the player in question got his third booking of the season against Shabana in a game played on Saturday 3rd May and was thus suspended for the next match against Agrochemicals.
Ghetto Radio Spoke to Austin Makacha one of the founders of the team who expressed total displeasure in FKF’s act.
“The Federation is robbing Kericho Zoo of what they have invested for six years, it is unfair for us to fight for all these years and at the end, our neighbor from Shabana is reaping our fruits,” he said.
There still an appeal pending lodged by Zoo Kericho but according to football pundits in the Country the federation is unlikely to reverse its decision.
