A women’s movement is planning to host a mini skirt protest at Uhuru Park next week on Monday in support of of the woman who was publicly stripped on Wednesday for indecent dressing.
The movement by the name Kilimani mums is also planning to use the platform to protest against violence and sexual asault against women.
“This morning we as kilimani mums met and decided that we shall hold a peaceful procession to Accra road on Monday 17th November .We shall go deliver a message to the touts who who stripped our sister that it is wrong and a woman has the right to dress the way she sees fit ,” the women said in a statement.
In the Wednesday incident men believed to be Embassava touts stripped the woman, kicked her in her private parts and called her Jezebel for her ‘scanty’ dressing.
Meanwhile matatu touts in Nairobi have condemned the act calling for the punishment of the perpetrators.
