Two wanted suspects who surrendered themselves on Wednesday to police have been taken to court in Mombasa.
The police asked the court on Thursday to detain the suspects for five days to allow officers complete their investigations.
The suspects — Abdulkarim Mzee, aka Abdul, and Swaleh Ramadhan — were handed over to county commissioner Nelson Marwa onWednesday by the group Muslims for Human Rights.
The two said they were innocent.
Two other suspects, Kayuni Khatib Khamisi and Farah Abdi Farah, had earlier surrendered themselves to the police for interrogation, with Mr Khamisi due to appear in court on Thursday afternoon.
