One person has died and six others injured after a four storey building collapsed in Nairobi’s Kaloleni Estate.
The residential building which collapsed today at 3 am has scores of other tenants trapped inside.
Nairobi County Deputy Commandant Moses Ombati says at least fifteen people have already been reported missing by their relatives.
Ombati says out of the fifteen five of them are still alive and are communicating with their relatives on phone. He however fears that there could be more victims who are trapped in the building
One person died on the way to Kenyatta National Hospital and several others have been admitted.
A joint rescue mission is currently being conducted by the Kenya National Disaster Operation Center, the Kenya Red Cross Society, the Nairobi Fire Brigade and the National Youth Service.
