The Kenya Women Parliamentarians Association KEWOPA now the wants office of director of public prosecution to open investigations against Imenti Central MP Gideon Mwiti who is accused of raping a former journalist.
Addressing the media the KEWOPA chairperson Cecil Mbarire says the sexual harrasments have been so rampant even by their fellow men legislators and other parliamentary staffs.
The women plan to form a gender unit in parliament which will deal with issues marring sexual harrasments both to the members of parliamentary staff and the legislators themselves.
Meanwhile the probe over Mwitis’ rape allegations are underway as the woman who accused him of sexual assaults is still at the Nairobi Women Hospital.
