
Three young women believed to be Al Shabaab sympathisers have been arrested while sneaking out of the country to allegedly join the Al Shabaab.
The three who are said to be students were arrested at El Wak on the Kenya Somalia border to become Jihadist brides.
Mombasa County Commissioner Nelson Marwa say the three, two Kenyans and one Tanzanian aged 21 and 29 respectively were recruited via the social media.
“One is a student at Mount Kenya University in Thika, Kiambu County, another at Burhania Secondary School in Malindi, Kilifi County and the other is said to be pursuing a degree in Medicine at International University of Africa, Khartoum,” police said.
Families of the suspects are said to have confirmed the disappearance of their daughters and that they have been informed of their arrested.
