Police are investigating an incident in which Mandera’s senator Billow Kerrow’s driver hit and kills the senator’s driver in Nairobi’s South C estate.
According to The Standard the driver was driving from the senator’s home yesterday when he accidentally ran over the woman killing her instantly.
Mr Kerrow was not at home at the time of the incident. According to the police and Kerrow the driver accidentally engaged a drive gear and accelerated as he started the car.
“The driver was leaving the compound and the victim was standing outside the gate. He engaged the drive gear and drove through the gate which was closed. He said he wanted to step on the brakes instead,” said Kerrow.
He said the vehicle hit the maid who was walking into the compound.
