Council of Governors has asked the National government to involve county governments in security matters saying governors are in better position to promote security at county level.
Speaking at the second Annual Devolution conference in Nairobi, Council of Governors Vice Chairman Salim Mvurya called for the joint collaboration so that they could come with ways of dealing firmly with insecurity menace in the counties.
The governors said they understood the challenges facing the country and that as leaders they were keen to ensure the country is safe for efficient and prompt service delivery.
This comes in the wake of increased terror attacks in the country, latest being the Garissa University college attack that left 148 students dead.
