The wait is finally over for Nairobi, the 2013 Serious Request #SUPADADA Edition has officially been launched.
The three Supadas Lydia, Mary and Shii took their final breakfast at the Hilton Hotel and entered the Glasshouse after the house was opened by HIVOS Regional Director Will Janssen.
The ladies then debuted the edition by hosting a live show together from the Glasshouse where they expressed their excitement of going on a hunger strike in order to empower other girl child.
“Am hungry already” Lydia quipped during the show. “But for the girl child I will do this for even more days” she added.
Shii the street empress was lost for words, she just hoped that Kenyans will come out and donate sanitary towels in order to keep the less fortunate girl child in school.
HIVOS Regional Director Will Janssen expressed optimism saying that the campaign will definitely change the lives of many women in Kenya.
This year’ Serious Request has been sponsored by HIVOS, Hilton Hotel, Netherlands Red Cross and 3FM.
