gaThe Kenyan Premier League have appointed TransAfrica Media East Africa (TAM-EA) as their commercial agent to source for sponsors for the league.

TAM-EA’s role will be focused on securing partners for the sixteen-team league, as well as other KPL products including the Top 8 Knockout tournament, the U-19 tournament and the KPL awards. TAM-EA will carry out its role through its sports agency subsidiary Frontiers Sport & Entertainment EA.

This appointment comes on the back of TAM-EA’s recent work on Athletics Kenya’s successful bid for the 2017 IAAF World Youth Championships.

Launched in Kenya under a year ago, TAM-EA, has embarked on an ambitious journey to revolutionize the way sports marketing, sports events planning and execution are delivered in Kenya and the wider East African region.

“We are very delighted to be working with one of Africa’s biggest and most professional football leagues. Working with blue chip clients like the KPL, is in line with our objective to become a leader in the East Africa’s sports marketing and entertainment sectors,” Maggie Ireri, the Managing Director of TAM-EA, said.

Jack Oguda, KPL CEO, added: “We are excited by TAM-EA and Frontiers’ innovative approach to sponsorship. We look forward to working with them and delivering even more value to our current and new partners.”

KPL currently have three major multimillion-shilling partnerships with corporate entities – broadcast rights holders SuperSport, title rights holders Tusker and Puma, the official suppliers of the league’s balls.

The SuperSport deal was last year extended to 2021, the Puma partnership runs until the end of this season while the Tusker agreement, which lapses in June, is up for new negotiations.

TransAfrica Media East Africa is a Pan African sports marketing and communications group, based in Nairobi, Kenya. It is a subsidiary of TransAfrica Media South Africa, with head offices in Johannesburg.
