A serial killer Harrison Okumu has died after a fight with cellmates at Kisumu’s Kodiaga Maximum Prison.
Okumu who was facing charges of killing five people and burrying them in his compound was killed by fellow capital offence inmates after a disagreement on Wednesday evening.
According to the Standard five other inmates were injured in the scuffle.
In december 2014 Okumu also known as Boy attempted to commit suicide after he set himself ablaze inside the prison cell.
The prison’s authorieties then said Okumu had used a mattress and a matchbox to set himself on fire.
He was recused by other inmates and officers on duty who rushed him to hospital where he was admitted with severe burns.
The suspect was arrested in August 2013 after Miguye residents in Kisumu County unearthed human remains burried in a shallow grave next to his house.
He was arrested in Mombasa where he had boarded a Garissa bound bus after weeks of police tracking.
