Meru County Governor Peter Munya has been elected Chairman of the council of governors.
Munya replaces Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto who has served for two terms.
Salim Mvurya and Wycliff Oparanya have been elected Vice Chair and Whip respectively.
The newly elected leaders have promised to actualize the Pesa Mashinani Referendum that was launched last year aimed at mobilising support from the electorate to push the national government increase county funds.
