Business in Athi river area along Mombasa road was on Monday paralyzed for the better part of the afternoon after P.S.V and bodaboda operators took to the streets protesting increased levies by the Machakos County.
They barricaded the busy highway with stones and twigs bringing traffic at the busy highway to a standstill.
According to John Ombonya route manager seven city shuttle, the operators were against what they termed as exorbitant charges that have been bestowed upon them on short notice.
Ombonya told Ghetto radio News via phone that the road is currently impassable with no vehicles moving on either side of the road due to the protest.
