c'tteeA section of Kenyans now claim that the police vetting panel last week failed to get the police bosses to answer some pertinent questions they had forwarded to the panel

Fredrick Ochieng Onyango one of the residents who raised the concern says they did not get to hear the panel ask  questions on the extra judicial killings of Kenyans that has been taking place for a long time now.

Speaking to Ghetto Radio News Onyango says that the panel instead focused on personal questions which would have been asked in other forums like the police’s bank accounts and their marital lives.

The police vetting committee last week started the vetting process of senior police officers. Nairobi Police Boss Benson Kibue was among the officers who faced the vetting panel.

The second phase of the vetting of senior police officers will be conducted by the end of this month.

66 Senior Assistant Commissioners of Police and 115 Assistant Commissioners of Police are set to face the Johnston kavuludi led panel at the end of this month.

The National Police Service Commission has so far sought the public views on the said officers in a bid to clean the police service to improve on efficiency.

Onyango says the vetting was supposed to determine whether the officers were still fit to hold office a situation he feels was not achieved.
