Treasury is planning to adversely cut expenditure costs within ministries in the 2014 budget in order to save enough money for development projects.
Treasury Cabinet secretary Davis Chirchir outlined transport as the key area within ministries whose expenditure costs need to be cut.
Speaking during the launch of the Public Hearing on budget policy Chirchir says this will also help the government earn the confidence of Kenyans in its bid to generate more revenue.
Chirchir says he also plans to reduce the number of foreign travels in business class government officials make to cut transportation costs.
