The Kenya Civil Servant Union is now warning the ministry for interior and national co-ordination over firing chiefs and and their assistants saying the officers do not have any constitutional mandate to destroy illicit brewers properties.
Addressing the media at the unions’ offices the The Kenya Civil Servant Union Secretary general Tom Odege slammed the Interior Joseph Ole Nkaisery for compelling the chiefs to destroy the brewers products in the name of fighting alcohol.
Odege on the other hand took the platform to request those chiefs who have been sacked to come on board for assistance by the union.
Meanwhile a total of 99 chiefs and other officers have been sacked on ground that they did not take part in fight against the illicit brews.
