Nairobi City Stars team manager Neville Pudo was a disappointed man after the team’s 0-2 loss to Sofapaka yesterday at the Machakos Stadium.
Speaking after the match, the team manager insisted that the players failed to rise to the occasion and perform better to the standard of the squad that has been signed.
Pudo insisted that the squad as the capacity to take on any team but the players were not performing to their level best compared to their capabilities.
Nairobi City Stars fell to two goals in the first half courtesy of Collins Shivachi and David Mbakiye only rising to the occasion a little too late when Sofapaka were cementing their lead in the match.
City Stars benched their key strikers Ebrimah Sanneh, Jimmy Bageya and Bruno Sserunkuma in the match opting to park the midfield bringing them in the second half but Sofapaka executed their defensive approach successfully.
