The National Housing Corporation (NHC) is targeting to develop 30,000 housing units this year to bridge the housing deficit in the country.
The corporation plans to develop 10,000 units for low income earners and another 20,000 units through joint ventures with land owners as well as County Governments.
NHC’s Managing Director, Wachira Njuguna speaking in Ruai where NHC is constructing 44police staff quarters said the corporation intends to use modern building technology to drive supply of the proposed housing stocks.
Njuguna said the corporation has designed a low cost housing unit that can be built at a cost of Kshs 1 million.
