Over 600 million shillings meant for the youth is currently lying idle at the Youth Enterprise Fund account.
The Youth Enterprise Fund Senior Commercial instructor Daniel Kang’ethe says the money has been lying idle in Fund’s bank for over a year now.
Addressing the media at the Nairobi County Offices says Kang’ethe says majority of the youth are shying away from applying for the funds.
“The Fund last year was given 2 billion shillings to lend to the youth and as at now over 600 million shillings have not been touched,” said Kang’ethe.
Kang’ethe’s remarks however contradict youth’s reports that they have applied for the funds severally but have been denied.
The youth say the many red tapes set to get to the funds have literally made the funds inaccessible.
