The UN under secretary general for department of public information Peter Launsky has lauded Ghetto Radio’s initiatives that seek to empower women and girls.
The campaign dubbed #SUPADADA saw fans and well wishers collect a total of 116,000 double pack sanitary towels last year and the ghetto radio crew continues to supply the sanitary towels to identified needy schools across Nairobi County.
Launsky says these initiatives need a lot of support from society to ensure gender empowerment and access to education further promising the UN’s support towards the initiatives.
Last week the Ghetto radio crew supplied sanitary towels to standard eight pupils in Muthurwa, Kiboro Heshima, Kangemi and Kawangware primary schools.
