Defending champions Gor Mahia were handed a humiliating 2-0 defeat at the hands of premiere league’s newly promoted side Top Fry Nakuru to end their one hundred percent record

Top fry Nakuru went into the game having conceded 11 goals from all the five matches, while K’Ogalo who, save for the barren draw against Thika United at city stadium in mid-week had registered three wins in four games

Lady luck seemed to have eluded GorMahia on Saturday as they were forced to bring back its first choice goalkeeper Jerim Onyango who has just returned from injury when David Juma was carried off the pitch in the fourth minute with an injury.

The Nakuru side capitalized on the visitors’ reluctance to score their first goal on the 48th minute thanks to john Ndirangu’s effort that doubled it on the hour mark to ensure that K’Ogalo conceded for the first time in the KPL this season.

But while Gor Mahia was struggling at Afraha stadium, former champions Tusker were picking three points to top KPL standings with a 2-1 defeat of Ulinzi Stars at Nyayo National Stadium with goals from Clifford Alwanga and Khalid Aucho.

Tusker who have not lost a single match now have 13 points from six matches same as Chemelil Sugar who forced AFC Leopards to a barren draw in a late kick off match at Nyayo Stadium.

Sofapaka “taxed” debutants KRA with a resounding 3-0 win on Sunday at the Nyayo National Stadium to move to fifth place on the Kenyan Premier League table with 10 points while city stars forced a 1-1 draw with ten-man Sony Sugar at the same venue in an earlier kick-off as Thika United beat KCB 2-1 at Ruaraka grounds to go fourth on the table with 11 points.

KRA goalkeeper Philip Odhiambo failure to hold on to Enoch Agwanda’s initial effort awarded Sofapaka their first goal when Clifton Miheso scored the rebound to make it 1-0, Agwanda made it 2 from the penalty spot after the hour mark when John Baraza was brought down in the box by Edwin Misiko.

Humphrey Mieno’s stoppage time goal from a neat lay off by Elli Asieche wrapped a well-deserved win for ‘Batoto ba Mungu’.
