The Court of Appeal in Kisumu on Friday nullified the election of Shinyalu MP Silverse Anami Lisamula.
Three Appellate judges ruled that there was violence in Shinyalu on the eve of March 4 polls that affected the outcome of the election despite a ruling by the Kakamega High Court that upheld Lisamula’s election in October.
In their ruling justices Onyango Otieno, Patrick Kiage and Agnes Murgor faulted the High Court judge for dismissing an application by the petitioner, Justus Gesito, for scrutiny and recount of votes.
