The County government of Nairobi has started arresting club owners violating the directives on noise pollution as well as increasing fines against the club owners.

Speaking to Ghetto Radio News the county environmental director Richard Masinde says has warned clubs and restaurants along Thika road,Dagoreti Corner and Eastlands to stop playing loud music at night failure to which the premises will be closed.

Masinde explains that the loud music has adversely affected school children living in those areas.

Masinde on the other hand urged members of the public to feed them with information on any clubs making noise beyond the required level.

Pangani residents yesterday blocked roads and lit tyres protesting against what they term as the unlawful arrest of young man by police.

The residents say the man was arrested by police after he was hit by a police’ stray bullet that penetrated through his iron sheet-walled house where he was sleeping with his wife.

The man’s wife Sarah Kana says her husband was arrested when they had gone to seek treatment at the Kenyatta National Hospital accusing him of rape.

“It was around 5 am, we were all asleep, then i felt something like water on the sheets, i even asked why he had poured water on the bed, when i made a glanced i realized it was not water, there was blood all over… then i ran out to call the naighbours for assistance,” narrates Kana.

Kana says one of the neighbours then offered her some money and she took her husband to the Hospital in Kenyatta, while he was receiving treatment, the police came and handcuffed him.

“They then called the girl who was raped but then she said, he is not the one,” she says.

Starehe Division OCPD Bernard Nyakwaka confirmed the arrest of the man saying the police are still conducting investigations over the issue.

“The incident happened on Saturday morning when my officers accosted three gangs who were gang raping two ladies so the said person is being treated at the Kenyatta National Hospital under guard, he will have to write a statement on whether he is innocent or not, we will then call for an ID parade if he is positively identified he will be charged in court,” said Nyakwaka.

Nairobi Senator, Mike Mbuvi Sonko has announced the return of his rescue team barely a month and a half since its disbandment.

Briefing the media in Kangemi slums Sonko stated that the team will only be offering wedding and hearse services as the county government of Nairobi continue giving ambulance and fire engine services.

The senator disbanded Sonko Rescue Team in September and donated the ambulances to the County government of Nairobi.

Former Kenyan Prime minister Raila Odinga has hailed Gor Mahia for successfully defending the Kenya Premier League title as well as their perfect campaign.

Raila, who is the club’s patron, hosted the 2015 Sportpesa Premier League champions today, November 3 in his office in Nairobi where he congratulated the team for making history.

The champions are the first team to win the league three years in a trot in the new 16-team league format, they finished the league unbeaten and garnered 78 points from 30 matches which is the icing on the cake.

“I am happy; I want to thank the coaches and the whole team they have done a very well,” Raila said.

As a result of their exemplary performance, the club was gifted with Ksh 500,000 as a motivational token from Raila who recognized their unrelenting effort this whole campaign that ended on Sunday in festivities rather than the traditional friction from the Green Army.

“The club has done very well and for that I am giving them a token where the coaches will receive Ksh 100,000, the club Ksh 100,000 and the players Ksh 300,000,” he added.

Elsewhere in Kiambu County, lady luck was knocking at Isaac Kimonge’s door who acquired a loan from mobile money service MShwari so that he could place a bet that marked the turning point for the 31-year old.

Kimonge, who is a Chelsea fan, did not let his favorite teams performance this season derail his hope of winning the cash.

Devolution CS Anne Waiguru has defended herself against the corruption claims bedeviling her Ministry where massive inflation of goods and services in her Ministry were discovered.

According to Waiguru, the corruption claims are an incessant attack on her character and not meant to address the issue of corruption.

“Both by law and in practice, I do not procure. I do not purchase anything for the ministry. I don’t sign or negotiate contracts. Where instances of possible malpractice has been brought to my attention I have called in investigative authorities,” said the CS in a statement.

Waiguru termed the attacks vicious and unwarranted meant to slow her dow.

“Surely this is no longer about the fight against corruption. It’s calculated evil, vindictive and ill intentioned. It’s an unfortunate distraction from the work the Ministry has been doing in the last two years,” she said.

Speaking at the launch Of Public Health Officers And Technicians Council, Francis Musemi also urged Medical Practitioners to obtain valid papers in order to reduce the number of quacks in the country.

Confirming the development of the defender, Wenger said, “We have nobody else back. It’s not a big problem (for Bellerin). He has a small groin problem. We have to wait a bit.”

None the less, an inform Arsenal who have a good record in their matches in Germany, are unbeaten in the last two visits to Allianz Arena and now will seek to replicate last Wednesday’s performance against the Bundesliga champions.

France international Karim Benzima was arrested on November 4 as a suspect in the case involving blackmail in connection to a sex tape that features fellow national team player Mathieu Valbuena, AFP reports.

Barely a month after former France international Djibril Cisse, was investigated concerning the same allegations, Benzema becomes the second high profile football star to be involved.

According to reports, the Real Madrid forward was detained in a police station in the city of Versailles in the outskirts of Paris and was a subject of the ongoing investigations concerning attempts of extorting the Lyon.

A source close to the probe team in the case told AFP that in early October, during a French team meeting, Benzema mentioned the sex tape to Valbuena and it is unclear whether he intended to intimidate the complainant into paying the blackmailers.

This extortion case was first opened in July this year and if by any chance Benzema is found guilty, he could possibly face a potential prison sentence of five years.

It is understood that in October, three suspects who are friends with some footballers were arrested and charged for allegations of blackmail.

According to Kasarani OCPD Wambua Mboloi , Alphonce Kambu is currently being held at Kasarani police station untill tomorrow when he will appear in court and take plea over allegations of battering 26 year old Ruth Gakii.

Arsenal’s run in the Champions League hit a snug after being demolished 5-1 by Bayern Munich in the return leg of the European competition on November 4 at the Allianz Arena.

Arsenal had an upper hand first leg home goals advantage after beating the Bayern 2-0 at Emirates stadium a fortnight ago but their fortunes turned around yesterday.

Thomas Muller scored a brace while inform forward Robert Lewandowski, David Alaba and Arjen Robben were all on target as Olivier Giroud scored the consolation for Arsenal.

The result means that the Arsenal, whose survival in the European campaign hangs on a thin thread, have an uphill task to win both of their next encounters. Gunners need to overcome Dinamo Zagreb and hope to beat Olympiacos by two clear goals while pray that the Greek side loses to Bayern in order to proceed to the knock-out stages.

In a post match media interview, Arsenal boss admitted that poor defense was the main reason for the humiliation at the hands of the German behemoth.

“We were not at the races. When we went forward we had chances but with a defensive performance like that you go nowhere.” Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger said.

“You have to give credit to Bayern for their quality. On top of that we made things quite easy for them with our defensive performance. We were extremely poor defensively.

“I can’t tell you if it’s the worst (performance). But we have to realise that with that kind of performance our chances are at a minimum.”

This is by far the worst performance by the London club in the European competition after their 4-0 loss at the hands of AC Millan in 2012.

If they qualify to the group stage, Arsenal will become the second team after Galatasaray in 2012 to make it to the knock out stages after losing their first two matches in the group stages.

However, Wenger is optimistic that things may take an upward trajectory for his side and they can still qualify and strongly relies on Bayern’s performance against Olympiacos.

“We have a chance to qualify. Olympiacos have to lose here. It’s a small chance but a real one. We have to give it all to have a chance to qualify. If Bayern play like they did tonight they will beat Olympiacos.

“We also have to focus on Sunday and turn up with a different performance. We are in a strong position in the league.” Wenger further added.

On the outcome, Arsenal are now at the bottom of Group F with 3points with two matches to spare while Bayern are at the helm with 9 points ahead of Olympiacos with the same points after the latter beat Zagreb 2-1 to push them to third on the log with three points.
