PSG Reportedly Set to Make big move’ for Real Madrid Star

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly set to make a “stratospheric offer” for Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro this summer amid possible interest from Manchester United.

It is said that the French side are not prepared to meet the Brazil international’s €200 million buyout clause but are nevertheless readying a sizeable bid for his services.

Their interest is said to come after United tried to lure him away from the Santiago Bernabeu a “few months ago,” and the Red Devils could return for him this summer as they seek midfield reinforcements.

A defensive midfielder should be among PSG’s priorities this summer.

Thiago Motta turns 36 in August, and while Les Parisiens’ flaws typically matter little on the domestic front because they’re so dominant, they lack protection in big UEFA Champions League clashes and it proves costly, as it did against Real this season.

That’s where Casemiro could come in. He provides a shield in front of Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane and allows Luka Modric and Toni Kroos to focus on controlling the game from the middle and creating opportunities for Real’s attacking stars.

According to statistics, the 26-year-old has won 64 tackles and 46 headed duels in 25 La Liga appearances this season, as well as making 51 interceptions. At the same time, he has created 23 chances and maintained a passing accuracy of 87 per cent.

He has also chipped in with seven goals and three assists in all competitions, which is an unexpected but healthy bonus from a player in his position.

Casemiro has come in for criticism of late, though, with Managing Madrid’s Kiyan Sobhani and broadcaster Deji Faremi singling him out:Casemiro’s poor first touch now being exposed a lot lately. And he hasn’t been winning a lot of tackles or making interceptions. Off form.

The Brazilian is hardly flawless, and he’s not of the same calibre as many of his team-mates at the Bernabeu.

However, he has been a key fixture in the team throughout Zinedine Zidane’s reign for a reason, and he could contribute much in Paris or Manchester.

There’s little incentive for him to leave or Real to part with him, though much would depend on the size of the offer PSG are said to be preparing.

A Makerere University senior administrator has been suspended and arrested by police over allegations that he raped a Kenyan student.

Kisuze Edward, a senior administrator in the office of the academic registrar was suspended from the university by Acting Vice Chancellor Prof William Bazeyo to allow investigations into the matter.

He allegedly sexually abused the former student on Friday when she visited the office to pick her academic papers.

The rape allegations surfaced after the student Rachel Njeri took a selfie of herself being sexually abused by the lecturer.

The former student later reported the case to Makerere Police on Saturday and formally lodged a complaint with the university management yesterday.

Njeri claimed the man grabbed her breasts, licked them and told her he loved her.

In a suspension letter dated April 17, 2018, Kisuze was first tasked to give an official response to the complaint but his response was unsatisfactory.

“The academic registrar has forwarded the complaint and the response to this office. Management has found your response to the allegation unsatisfactory and decided set up an investigation to establish what happened,” Prof Bazeyo said in the suspension letter.
“I tried to resist his actions but he was stronger than I was. He grabbed me and threw me on the cabinet files at the corner.”

“Accordingly, I hereby suspend you from university service on half pay with immediate effect to allow a smooth investigation of the matter,” Prof Bazeyo further said.

Prof Bazeyo told Kisuze that “you are strongly advised to desist from any access to senate building premises and or interaction with students of Makerere University until investigations are completed.” Kisuze is currently detained at Wandegeya Police stations according to sources.

This case comes a month after suspension of an academic staff, Professor Swizen Kyomuhendo, a lecturer at the Social Works and Social Sciences faculty (SWASA) over sexual harassment allegations.

Public universities lecturers were today taken off the streets by police during their procession to the ministry of education offices.

UASU officials however protested the move by the police saying they had no rights to prevent their peaceful procession since they had given a notice to the relevant authorities.

The lecturers from various universities in the country wanted the education CS to address the negotiation agreements between them and the government.

UASU secretary General Constantine Wasonga has denied claims of classes going on in public universities saying it is a scheme by vice chancellors to extort school fees from students.

He has said that the Ministry of education has incompetent officials and the strike is far from ending until they feel their quest has been quenched.

Reigning Kenya Premier League Champions Gor Mahia have made history by qualifying in the Group Stage of Caf Confederation Cup.

Despite losing the match to the South African Club 2-1 Kogalo are through to the Lucrative group stage of the competition on a way goal.

The match ended 2-2 on aggregate having beaten the South African side by a solitary goal in the first leg played in Kenya.

Francis Kahata scored the all important goal that sailed Gor through, just a minute after Harun Shakava had scored an own goal.

Kogalo joins other East African Clubs Al Hilal of Sudan, Rayon Sports of Rwanda and Young Africans of Tanzania who won CAF Confederation Cup playoffs on Wednesday, despite second-leg losses.

CAF club final victories by east African sides have been rare, with the last in 1989 when Al Merrikh of Sudan won the now defunct African Cup Winners Cup.

But the many heartbreaks of the past were forgotten in Khartoum, Nairobi, Kigali and Dar es Salaam as supporters celebrated aggregate victories.

Al Hilal fell 3-1 to Akwa United of Nigeria in Uyo, but squeezed through on away goals.

Rayon had the three-goal lead they built at home to thank for their survival after going down 2-0 to Costa do Sol of Mozambique in Maputo, where the home team missed a penalty.

Mr. Kivuti was born normal like other sons of his parents.

Unfortunately, blindness caught up with him at the age of seven and due to lack of resources to seek early medical intervention, he has become permanently blind.

Whereas he may not see with physical eyes, he is alert to opportunities of life. Unlike many of his kind, he doesn’t use his misfortune as an excuse to go around begging or lying down to wait to die.

On the contrary he has mastered the art of making stones without hurting his hands or fingers. It is as if his soul and spirit see in the stead of his eyes.

The occasional help of his supportive wife Millicent adds up as a guide in seizing every opportunity that comes his way.

He spends most of his day making build stones from large rocks together with his spouse which they sale to eke a living.

He urges young people and everyone to always brace ahead when challenges slap them in the face.

He says the worst thing for a man is to miss an opportunity and use their situations for excuse of the same.

“Disadvantages will always be there and so will be setbacks, if it’s not the eyes, it might be ears, or legs or a poor background, the weather, and the list is endless but if we maintain a fighting spirit and unwavering resilience, we always come out victors.” He said.

He is a perfect example of what a strong will can do against all odds
