Opposition leader Raila Odinga has dismissed political debates profiling a few politicians as members of dynasties that should not rule Kenya.

Speaking at Retired President Daniel Toroitich arap Moi’s burial ceremonies, Raila stated that no one has a right to block anyone who is interested in vying for any political position.

“If you look at Nyayo, he came from very humble backgrounds and he managed to come from there, joined the nationalist movement, became the vice president and eventually became the second president of thsi country. He came from poverty just like Mzee Kenyatta also came from poverty, Jaramogi Oginga also came from poverty,” said Raila.

Raila stated that Moi did not inherit anything, but struggled to get what he had. He also stated that Moi’s children are also struggling just like any other Kenyans.

“Why should somebody think that he is entitled to lead this country more than Raila Odinga because he is the son of Oginga Odinga or Gideon Moi because he is the son of Moi. Gideon has a right like any other Kenyan to vie for any position that he wants in this country,” he further stated.

Raila also stated that he had a long discussion with Moi and they decided to forgive each other.

“This is where we had our first hand shake,” he said.

The dynasty debate has been a discussion being carried by Deputy President William Ruto’s political allies.

For some time now Diamond Platnumz’s mother and his sister Esma have been accused of interfering with the singer’s love life.

The two have been reported to be ganging up against the singer’s women which has contributed to some of his relationship woes.

According to Mzee Abdul, Platnumz has all that its takes to settle down and he believes he will do so when the right time comes.

“Siwezi kumchagulia mwanangu mwanamke wa kumuoa kwa kuwa ana maamuzi yake, hivyo namshauri aoe mwanamke anayemtaka, asikubali kuchaguliwa na mtu awe baba au mama yake maana atakuja kujuta baadaye,’’ said Mzee Abdul Juma

It seems Nairobi County  Inspectorate Officers   have retreated to their comfort  zones making boda boda riders to take advantage of the situation to cause chaos and disorder in the Central Business District.

The boda boda riders are currently operating with impunity without observing  traffic lights and other regulations.

Most affected areas are Supreme Court, Hilton  Hotel, Kimathi Street ,Tom Mboya street, Luthuli avenue, Accra road and GPO.

But according to Boda boda Association Chairman Kevin Mubadi  there is a  cartel ring controlling entry of boda boda riders in the CBD.

Mubadi says some of the riders are being forced to pay sh. 200 daily to gain access and operate within CBD without arrests while  new riders who are not in the ring are arrested.

‘‘There are riders  who cannot be nabbed in the CBD they pay Ksh. 200 to inspectorate officers to operate ..surprisingly some of the motorbikes also belong to inspectorate officers..it’s a  lucrative dirty business that goes on and killing it might be  tricky.’’ Mubadi said.

New city inspectorate  boss Partrick Mwakio  who  recently took over from  Tito Kilonzi is yet to release his ‘venom’ on the riders .

Nairobi governor Mike Sonko  declared  CBD as a no go zone for  boda boda riders and instead allocated them stages along Kirinyaga road,Haile Sellasie,Globe Cinema  and Uhuru Park to operate.

Leonard Onyango from Kisumu County is Odibet’s first big winner of 2020 after he bagged Ksh 2, 401, 000 from four back to back soccer bets on Kenya’s fastest betting website.

Born a little over 30 years ago, the bodaboda mechanic is among the youth in Kenya who have embraced Odibets and turned into millionaires overnight.

How did Leonard win?

“Leonard’s bet slip is one of the most interesting we have seen this year,” noted Daniel Macharia, Odibets’ head of bookmaking.

“In the 4 wins, Leonard had 7 winning draw bets and it paid off handsomely. He predicted among others, Juve’s draw at Atalanta on Sunday which is quite a feat,” Machari concluded while congratulating the lucky winner.

When the OdiMtaani team (which distributes uniforms and soccer balls to the County soccer leagues sponsored by Odibets.com) visited him at his home in Kisumu, a visibly elated Onyango had a bit to say.

“I will use this money to endeleza my biashara – as well as take care of my family,” the bodaboda mechanic stated while citing Odibets’ fast payouts, boosted game odds and over 130 markets – as his favorites.

The Kisumu resident had some advice for punters who are yet to win, “What I can tell them is that if they haven’t won such an amount before, they shouldn’t give up! Tomorrow could be the day you win big like me!”

“Odibets would like to congratulate Leonard on his win! We hope that you enjoy your winnings,” said Odibets country marketing manager, Aggrey Sayi who was at hand to hand over the cheque.

Tyson Fury says he will have to knock out Wilder to avoid judging controversy

The British heavyweight Tyson Fury, despite hitting the canvas twice, believed he had won their enthralling December 2018 WBC contest declared a draw.  .

“I believe I out-boxed him,” said Fury, who fights Wilder again on 22 February.

“To guarantee a win, I need a knockout. I don’t want another controversial decision – I want a defining win.”

Fury, nicknamed the Gypsy King, was knocked down in the ninth and 12th rounds but nevertheless impressed as he went the distance in what was his first world title fight since returning to boxing the previous June, after a three-year absence.

The spectacle in Los Angeles was scored 115-111 for Wilder, 114-112 for Fury and 113-113.

The 31-year-old, speaking during a conference call, added: “I’m not a judge and these guys see what they see, but my own destiny lies with my own two fists.”

Fury, who has been training in Las Vegas for the past eight weeks, believes he is in better condition than he was for their first meeting and says the public have already seen the best of his American opponent.

“I learned in that first fight that he can be hit and hurt,” added the Briton who – like Wilder – has won every professional fight bar that one draw in 2018. “He’s got a big right hand and that’s it. He’s a one-dimensional fighter.

“He had me down twice and had two minutes in each of those rounds to finish me. Like in Mortal Kombat when they say, ‘Finish him’… but he couldn’t finish.

He landed two of the best punches any heavyweight in the world could land, but the ‘Gypsy King’ rose like a phoenix from the ashes.

“The biggest mistake I made was not making him pay when he was hurt. However, I didn’t know what was left in my tank because I hadn’t been 12 rounds for a long time. This time I’ll throw everything bar the kitchen sink. He won’t know what hit him.”

If Fury does dethrone Wilder to become the WBC champion, then he will have won every major heavyweight title during a career that began in 2008.

The Manchester-born boxer reiterated that he was not interested in leaving a legacy and was also unmoved by the possibility of being regarded the best current pound-for-pound fighter with victory over his opponent.

“I’m not sure how pound-for-pound works, it’s like fantasy baseball isn’t it? Everybody has an opinion on what’s the best or whatever,” he said.

“I’ve never been able to follow pound-for-pound. It’s like if an eagle had feet, it would be able to run faster than an ostrich. Or if a cow could fly then could it fly faster than an aeroplane? It’s people’s opinion, randomly making up stuff.

“What I do I know is when I beat Deontay Wilder I’ll be the best heavyweight of my era – standing alone.”
