Kenya’s 2014 COPA Coca-Cola ambassador, Lloyd Kim, returned to the country after participating in a highly rewarding COPA camp in Brazil.
The 14-year-old arrived in Kenya alongside his East African colleagues from Zanzibar, Tanzania and Uganda after they attended a one-week global camp in Brazil that involved over 120 players from more than 24 countries.
“This was, by far, the best thing that has happened in my life and career,” said Kim who won a medal after his team finished third overall.
“I am not the same player any more. The skills, technical ability and tactical awareness that I was imparted with during that period are things that will reign in my game from now onwards,” he said.
While at the camp, the JMJ Academy player got a chance to meet Brazil soccer legend and 1994 World Cup winner Bebeto while also watching LIVE the opening ceremony and the match between Croatia and Brazil which the hosts won 3-1.
“I am a big fan of Neymar and it was unbelievable how close he was to me during that match with Croatia. It was an amazing experience seeing him do what he does on the pitch,” he noted.
Kim’s next assignment will be to help motivate his JMJ Academy team who are participating in this year’s COPA Coca-Cola tournament.
