Last weekend marked one of the longest weekends ever being a ‘Mashujaa’ holiday and all.
With that in mind there were lots of parties to attend, one of them being the memorial concert for the late Lucky Dube.
Fishbone Entertainment which belongs to football player Dennis Oliech brought Lucky Dube daughter Nkulee to perform her father’s greatest hits, an event that was supposed to attract thousands of Lucky Dube’s fans.
Unfortunately for Oliech, it became a massive flop; There was a crowd of less than a hundred people half of who were artists who got in for free so they clearly did not make any profit.
Problem is they really did not do much publicity for the event; they should have hyped it all month and not only a week to the event.
It would have helped if they linked up with a media house but hey who am I to judge? This isn’t the first time these guys screwed up an event, they were supposed to bring Busy Signal earlier this year but that didn’t happen (the blame was laid on some poor soul in Uganda).
With failures mounting up I would think it’s time to throw in the towel……. football is clearly his specialty maybe he should stick with it.
