Trashy Talk By Sonko, Classy Walk Out By Passaris

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has received a backlash from a section of Kenyans over his abusive remarks on Nairobi Women representative Esther Passaris.

Sonko on Saturday during Madaraka Day Celebrations dressed down Passaris with words telling her that he is not her husband to pick her calls whenever she wanted.

“I will pick your calls when I am free. I am not your husband that I should be picking your calls any time you want,” Sonko told Passaris.

Sonko’s remarks forced Passaris to walk out to which he further urged her to go on and leave.

Passaris had criticised Sonko’s manner of leadership saying that many projects had stalled.

She further urged the governor to mend ways with Starehe MP Charles Njagua popularly known as Jaguar.

Federation of Women Lawyers called for Sonko’s arrest saying that his remarks were in contravention of of Chapter Six of the constitution.

“It was wrong. He is a public officer and should not engage in such. Unfortunately there is a continuous disregard of Chapter Six by some leaders,” said FIDA Executive Director Teressa Omondi.

“Good for you sister for walking out. The governor was disrespectful, his usual uncouth, and wearing kanjo inspector uniform made him more pathetic,” stated Wandia Njoya.

European Cup Heading Back to Anfield for the sixth time

Mohamed Salah scored one of the fastest ever goals in a Champions League final and Divock Origi struck late as Liverpool beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in Madrid on Saturday and won the trophy for the sixth time.

Less than two minutes had been played when Salah smashed in his spot-kick after Moussa Sissoko had been penalised for handball in the area.

A disappointing final never truly got going after that, but Liverpool will not care, as they saw Alisson Becker make several confident saves in the latter stages before substitute Origi drilled in the killer second in the 87th minute.

Mauricio Pochettino’s decision to start Harry Kane after nearly two months out did not pay off, and he is still looking for his first trophy after five years in charge.

Perhaps the stakes were simply too high, or perhaps the three-week break since the end of the Premier League season was to blame.

Most likely the suffocating Madrid heat impacted on the players and prevented this from being like a typical Premier League clash.

However, it might also have been a result of the opening goal coming so early, badly affecting Tottenham’s confidence.

The European Cup is heading back to Anfield for the sixth time and their manager is confident there is much more to come

Three weeks ago, the Reds were denied a first league title in 30 years by City, despite losing just once and racking up 97 points, but winning the Champions League makes up for that disappointment.

Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has told off his critics over abuse remarks hauled at him last weekend towards Nairobi Women representative  Ester Passaris, saying he will not apologize.

Speaking at Charter Hall today Sonko says his remarks were triggered by Passaris utterances where he claims the women representative tried to embarrass him in full glare of the media and public  by  linking his money source and good deeds to corruption.

He says Passaris should tell Kenyans the truth of what transpired before lying to Kenyans that he abused her at Madaraka Day event.

‘‘I will not apologise to Passaris and I owe no one apology and my difference with Passaris should not be taken out of context i don’t disrespect women.. she cannot question my money in the public and why i help people.’’  He stated.

He further accused Pasaris of not appreciating what the county is doing for her by supporting her trips abroad .

Sonko says all Passaris’ per diem trips are being paid by the county government of Nairobi and that she has no excuse to lecture him on matters of respect.

Meanwhile FIDA have called for the arrest of the governor saying he contravenes Chapter 6 of the constitution that requires public servants to hold high level integrity.

Pasaris questioned Sonko’s  consistent habit of  giving out handouts to voters  and even the source of his money but in a quick rejoinder at the same event he ‘insulted’ her a move that saw Passaris walking out of the event.

Rapper Jay-Z is officially the first hip hop artiste to become a billionaire.

American magazine Forbes has declared Jay z hit the billionaire mark after building an empire based on music, property, fashion and investments.

The US magazine has estimates that the rapper’s wealth now “conservatively totals” $1billion.

Forbes says the father of three has succeeded because he built brands rather than just endorsed them.

Forbes has also rejected claims that rapper and producer Dr Dre had reached billionaire status.

Jay Z hit fame in 1996 with his debut album Reasonable Doubt. His 2001 album The Blueprint was in March added to the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry because it was deemed “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant”.

Forbes said it had estimated Jay-Z’s wealth by adding various assets and then “subtracting a healthy amount to account for a superstar lifestyle”.

Jay’s superstar wife is reportedly worth about $335m, made mostly from music and endorsements, and the couple have had a joint net worth over $1bn for several years.

Jay z’s own’s:

  • A $75m music catalogue
  • Stakes in Armand de Brignac champagne and D’Usse cognac, worth $410m in total
  • A stake in Uber worth about $70m
  • Property in fashionable parts of New York and Los Angeles
  • A $100m stake in the music streaming service Tidal
  • An art collection valued about $50m

Alarm Over Rising Rate Of Lesbians In Eastlands

A section of men from Nairobi’s Eastlands area have raised an alarm over the increasing number of lesbians in the area.

The men who spoke to Ghetto Radio News claim that most affected areas are Buruburu and Outering areas.

Warren Denzel says that the number of lesbian relationships have increased adding that the lesbian girls are unafraid of showcasing their sexuality.

Denzel insinuates that the act has put the boy child in danger as most are afraid of approaching the girls for fear of being rejected because another girl is in the picture.

It is hard to stop and court a girl on the street because she will end up telling you she has a partner and to find out the partner is a girl.” He adds.

Denzel says that the act is too common that some area residents have accepted them and have no problem with them.

“These people are everywhere, on bus stops, clubs and funny enough no one is standing up for the boychild and condemning them,” said Denzel.

High Court on May 24, 2019 upheld laws criminalizing homosexual acts between consenting adults.

Presiding judges Roselyne Aburili, Chacha Mwita and John Mativo said Section 162 (a) and (c) of Kenya’s Penal Code says clearly that homosexuality is illegal in Kenya.

Human Rights activists described this as a step backward in the progress Kenya has made toward equality in recent years.

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has told businessman Dr Manu Chandaria to keep off a piece of land occupied by squatters in the Mukuru Kwa Njenga slums.

The Governor has instead asked Dr. Chandaria to seek for compensation from the national government as ordered by the court.

Speaking while distributing food to Muslim faithful from informal settlements across Nairobi at Nyayo National Stadium, Sonko said the Kenyan constitution allows squatters to claim ownership of land if they have lived on the land for more than 12 years.

He vowed to ensure that the squatters are given title deeds for the piece of land that has been at the centre of controversy between Dr. Chandaria and the locals.

“I want to warn Dr. Chandaria that l will not seat down and watch him frustrate the poor in the slums. If he wants to be compensated for the piece of land he should use the right channel,” Sonko said.

The County chief said he has reached out to President Uhuru Kenyatta over the issue and the President has subsequently instructed the Ministry of Lands to ensure the residents are given title deeds of the land.

“l want to thank the President because when we approached him he directed that no one should be evicted from the piece of land because it belongs to the public,” Sonko added.

The Governor also revealed that a section of those behind land grabbing in Nairobi are planning to approach him to stop opposing the eviction of Mukuru Kwa Njenga residents from the land claimed by Dr. Chandaria.

Sonko warned land grabbers who are targeting churches and Mosques, noting that the Nairobi City County Government will work closely with the national government to ensure that all grounds occupied by religious organizations are issued with title deeds.

The Governor also challenged the Nairobi City County Assembly to come up with stringent laws to protect city residents from greedy and merciless land grabbers who are out to kick them out from their land.

“We have to protect those who stay in slums and to do this we need firm laws,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Governor has insisted that besides initiating development projects in the city, he will keep sharing his riches with the poor in the society

“We must keep sharing with the less fortunate in the society and this is why l will keep doing this,” he said.
